CASE STUDY

Experience

  • In addition to illustrated items for the CN websites, I have extensive experience in illustrative work both personally and through freelance. Over the last two years I have illustrated two children’s books for clients, which are currently for preorder at Barnes & Noble

  • My Nation is an internal site I worked on with both the IT department and our graphic design team. Before beginning, I used surveys and recent data from visitors on the site to find what is most used and what can be removed. I then reorganized the content based on what the Chickasaw Employee is most likely to need and use on an everyday basis.

  • Throughout the past 10 years I have worked primarily with Figma, Adobe XD, and Axure. I’m also fluent in Adobe Suites.

For all projects, I’ve streamlined site maps, wireframes, style guides, and user testing.

  • Every site I design is completely responsive using Bootstrap. I work with developers to set limits for all elements on the site and implement the best experience for the user, no matter the device.

  • I am experienced in SEO and VSO setup, reporting, tracking, analyzing and solution recommendations to improve search engine ranking and voice search.

I also have experience designing and building digital products in compliance with WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards and with ADA accessibility guidelines.

  • I crafted and implemented the first style guide for the Department of Web Development.

I like to study both psychological l and emotional elements of color palettes, fonts and iconography when considering what is best needed for a particular site.

User Journeys

Camilla single-handedly crafted the standard for user journeys made within her UX/UI Department. She researched, designed, and created a template for her entire team to use when planning user experience.

“Montford” The Movie

Camilla worked with a team of top designers and marketing firms to create and promote a website for “Montford” (a movie shown in theatres and now released on Netflix).

Let’s get personal.

Where have I been the last 3 years. ? My career was going strong, I was project lead on my UX team excelling and leading meetings with top executives.

In 2020 I was sent home to work remotely. During that time I realized how much I had missed when my children were little. In 2022, when I had my third and final child, I decided I wanted to take some time off from work.

With my background in education I believe that you should never stop learning, so during that time I expanded my artistic side. I attended online art schools, and signed on to illustrate two children’s books. (Currently for presale at Barnes & Noble.) I learned abstract art, got into Bentonville gallery shows, and was even awarded the honor of being one of the upcoming 2025 Women of the Ozarks.

But, it was always temporary. My baby is grown and I’m excited to be part of a team again. Nothing is more rewarding than solving a creative problem or being congratulated for a design that you poured your heart into.
